This is not a remote or hybrid position and requires you to report to work in person.

Neff, a full-service, integrated marketing agency, is seeking a full-time Publicist. The Publicist Executive should have 5-7 years of on-the-job experience working in the field of public relations, marketing and/or corporate communications for an agency or other organization. The Publicist must be able to manage the day-to-day public relations and social media influencer initiatives for several clients on a consistent basis. The Publicist will monitor media coverage on a daily basis and compile monthly media monitoring reports; participate in ongoing client meetings; write and distribute press materials; secure media placements in regional, national and trade publications; draft and present new business proposals; and coordinate social media influencer initiatives and partnerships on behalf of clients. Candidates for the Publicist position must be an initiative-taking individuals who have a background in public relations or marketing, excellent communications skills, strong writing capabilities and the ability to learn new skills quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor for media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients
  • Compile comprehensive monthly media monitoring reports for clients
  • Participate in bi-weekly client meetings for designated accounts
  • Keep track of timely and trending topics in the news cycle
  • Brainstorm fresh new story ideas and pitch angles on a consistent basis
  • Draft client ready press materials in a timely manner (press releases, media alerts, bylined articles, etc.)
  • Build comprehensive media lists including regional, national and trade contacts
  • Build relationships with key media contacts
  • Secure earned media coverage (both regionally and nationally) on behalf of clients
  • Assist in creating and presenting new business proposals
  • Attend client events and industry networking events
  • Coordinating social media influencer initiatives, partnerships and events
  • Submit relevant award nominations on behalf of clients and the agency

Education & Experience:

  • 4-6 years of related experience (agency, in-house, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or relevant industry/internship experience
  • Collaborator with strong people skills
  • Effective communication & writing skills
  • Experience interacting and communicating with clients
  • Media relations experience
  • Experience coordinating influencer initiatives & partnerships
  • Deadline driven, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience utilizing PR software/industry tools such as Cision, Critical Mention, MuckRack, Meltwater, etc.
  • Established relationships within the Media Market
